Pioneer of Slovak geology dealing with paleotectonic evolution, crustal structure and geodynamics, regional geology, tectonics of the Western Carpathians and adjacent areas. Recently, he has been focusing mainly on Pieniny Klippen Belt and Meliata Unit areas.
